Sandy Zdunich

Sandy Zdunich Sandy Zdunich has been performing since the age of eight. After 13 years of training in ballet, jazz, and lyrical dance, she discovered salsa in 2003 while working in Havana, Cuba—an experience that shaped her artistic path. In 2006, she formed an amateur partnership, began competing, and was invited to join the SalsaRica Dance Company. She went on to perform extensively throughout Canada, the United States, and Puerto Rico, eventually forming a professional partnership.

In 2009, she and her partner agreed to compete professionally and qualified for the World Salsa Championships on their first attempt. Inspired by that success, Sandy moved to San Francisco to train and perform full-time across the Bay Area and Los Angeles. They competed at the World Championships twice before she retired to focus on family and career.

In 2024, the call to dance returned and Sandy turned her gaze to tango.  Later that year, she returned to the stage, performing in Tango into the 21st Century at the Denver Fringe Festival. She is delighted to appear in Parasol Arts’ production of Carmen while continuing to deepen her tango artistry.
