Parasol Arts, Colorado’s Argentine Tango dance company, presents “El Tango”, a novel tango show where great literature and great music collide through Argentine Tango!Live music by The Atlas Tango Project and guitarist Grisha Nisnevich accompany spectacular dancing by international tango stars, Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne, Donato Juarez and Diana Cruz, Colorado Ballet’s Domenico Luciano and professional tango artists of Parasol Arts.

Directed by Lorita Travaglia, “El Tango” celebrates the legacy of Jorge Luis Borges, Argentina’s literary genius and Astor Piazzolla, Argentina’s composer/bandoneon master and inventor of Nuevo Tango.Both were considered universal thinkers and masters in their own fields and collaborated in 1965 to create the album, El Tango..

“El Tango” gives insight into the mind of blind poet, Borges, and his stories and poems, narrated by veteran actor Joey Wishnia, come to life through the provocative Argentine Tango. The emotions of each piece are expressed through the dance and the evocative music of Piazzolla.
